If you are looking for a quick diet that works fast, then look no further. Let me just quote the first paragraph of the book:

" I can personally sum up the 17 Day Diet  in two words: fast results.

Depending on your weight  when you start out and your metabolism, you might expect  to lose up to 10 to 12 pounds the first 17 days.  Of course, the further you are from your ideal weight, the more you'll lose initially. "

In all honesty, I have not had time to try out this diet, but my wife has and she is losing weight faster than she has in years.  It is not easy; she is working hard and mostly sticking to the plan, but it is working. I think that the thought that she can lose weight quickly to begin with is a huge insentive.  Of all the diets that me or my wife have tried, I would say that this is the best quick diet that works fast. I also like the fact that this is written by a Doctor and is a healthy approach to quick weight loss.  My wife is also losing weight in phase two where certain foods are added back to the diet.  

We can not talk about phase 3 and 4 yet, because we have not gotten that far, but we have already gotten our money out of the book. Here is a chart from the book that gives a general overview of the program.
